Night 2: Intro to Dynamic Movement

Tired of not being able to reach that next hold? Night 2 covers the basics of Dynamic Movement--the most efficient and effective way to move up the wall. Learn to dyno!

Night 3: Use Your Legs!

Do your hands fail before your heart?  Combining the lessons from nights 1 & 2 the final class in our series teaches you how to use your legs (not your hands!) to make progress up the wall. We'll show you how to climb 5.10 before you can even do a single pull-up!

Fight Gravity Series: The Next Step

Climbing 202

Intermediate/Advanced level   Pre-requisites: Climbing 201 or equiv.    Age: 16 & up

Time to improve! Climbing 202, the second Fight Gravity clinic builds on the skills covered in 201. These classes expand on topics such as Dynamic Moves and Body Position, and introduce more advanced skills such as Twist-locking, long Dynos and basic training. Once again, each clinic is broken into 3 nights which may be taken as a full 3 week class, or as individual evenings.

Climbing 202 Course Details:

Single Night: $30 per person   ($20 for PRG Members)

Night 1: Twist-locks

Learn to trick gravity! Well, not really, but proper twist-locks are essential for saving energy and gaining leverage on harder moves. Once mastered, twist-locks are a critical skill for your bag of climbing tricks.

Night 2: Intermediate Dynamic Movement

Ready to go big? Expanding on the 201 topic, the next step in Dynamic movement covers gaining distance and saving energy!

Night 3: Body Tension--the Key to Steep Climbing

When the angle gets steeper, technique trumps raw strength every time. This class covers the essentials of climbing efficiently on steeper terrain. As this class draws heavily from earlier classes Nights 1 & 2 are strongly recommended pre-requisites.

Climbing 301 And Beyond: Advanced Clinics

Throughout the year we will also offer classes on Advanced topics including: Climbing Training, Advanced Lead Classes, Learning to Project and others. Pre-requisites and other information will be posted as it becomes available.
